Ard Bit is a Rotterdam-based musician and soundartist. He studied sonology at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.
After appearances on n5MD, Onrecords and Thin Consolation he debuted with his album Spanon in 2009 on Symbolic Interaction in Japan. In 2011 he contributed two tracks to the split EP Table for Two (with Astroposer), released on Shipwrec.
In 2012 he released Yelleen on Lowriders Recordings. For this release he collaborated with Jor Mesin. Strand, Julien Mier and Alphabets Heaven did a remix.
His latest release Ellioth is released on Lowriders Recordings in 2014. Four tracks and 1 remix by Roel Funcken (Funckarma).
His productions brood and crawl through a mysterious valley full of electronics. The music is powerful and menacing. No one dimensional outing but a wide-ranging affair of electronic soul and downtempo funk. There’s ample detail within every track, as he builds layer upon layer of synthetic sound design into heavily atmospheric and melancholy constructions. His sculpting of the material bears mention too, with the beats in particular handled in ear-catching manner.
Besides producing, he composes music and develops sound design for various productions such as animations , museums, commercials and documentaries under his moniker Skeep.
